Superman
Some Superman stories have him cross space faster than light. The famous slogan is not a measurement, and the comics do not stick to one figure.

Fiction
Fiction. Some Superman stories have him cross space faster than light. The famous slogan is not a measurement, and the comics do not stick to one figure.
In the story
The line everyone knows, faster than a speeding bullet, is an introduction, not a trial. A bullet's speed depends on the cartridge. The slogan never names one, so it cannot be converted into a rank.
What is not a measurement
Slogan only: “faster than a speeding bullet.” No official top speed used here. This page does not turn the story into miles per hour.
DC Comics
Across decades of comics and film, Superman flies to the sun, laps the planet, and sometimes outruns light. He also gets tagged by people he should leave behind. Speed is something the story grants him, not the thing the character is for. He sits under the Flash for that reason: the Flash's fiction is about being the fastest, and Superman's is not. No figure is stored.
The editorial order also includes The Flash and Sonic the Hedgehog. The order is about the scale each story claims. It is not a clock.
