Fastest fictional characters
This is an editorial list, filed under for fun. It is not a ranking of measured speeds, and none of these characters can show up in the speed race or in a real-world record.
Where a canon source prints a figure or a plain phrase, that phrase is quoted and linked. Where it does not, the row says so and stays qualitative. A fan's frame-count of a movie shot is not canon, and it is not printed here as if it were.
The order is a judgment about the scale each fiction claims. The Flash's stories are about being the fastest. A Looney Tunes short is about never being caught, which is a different joke, not a slower number. Ties are allowed. Miles per hour are not.
DC's speedster is written as the fastest person in that universe. The comics do not keep one official number, so this page does not invent one.
No single official speed. The role is defined as the fastest.
Some Superman stories have him cross space faster than light. The famous slogan is not a measurement, and the comics do not stick to one figure.
Slogan only: “faster than a speeding bullet.” No official top speed used here.
Sega's 1991 series bible calls him the world's first supersonic hedgehog and says the team pushed him through the sound barrier. Later games raise the fantasy. We do not turn that into a miles-per-hour record.
Sega, 1991: supersonic, and through the sound barrier. No stored miles per hour.
Marvel's mutant speedster. The comics and the films show him moving through a moment everyone else is stuck in. They do not publish one official top speed worth ranking.
No official figure used. Depicted as a superhuman speedster, not as a measured record.
The Eternals' speedster, on the page and in the 2021 film. The film shows the power and does not state a speed.
No speed stated in the film. Ranked as a depicted superhuman speedster.
A boy who is not allowed to win at school because he would be obviously superhuman. The film shows him run on water. It does not state a speed.
No stated speed. Water-running is shown, not measured.
The speedster of The Seven. The show and the comic treat him as the fast one on a team of celebrities. This page does not adopt a fan-converted miles-per-hour figure.
No figure adopted. Portrayed as the team's speedster.
Always fast enough. The cartoons never give him a speed, because the joke collapses if Wile E. Coyote can measure it.
No speed. The rule of the cartoon is that he is ahead.
The cartoons call him the fastest mouse in all Mexico. They mean it as a title, the way a wrestler is called the champ, and they never time him.
Title: “the fastest mouse in all Mexico.” No measurement.
A race car in a world of cars. Fast for that world, and bounded by it. Pixar does not give him a top speed this page will treat as canon.
No official top speed adopted. He is a stock car in a racing story.
