BMW M2 CS

The BMW M2 CS lapped the Nordschleife in 7:25.534 on 11 April 2025 with Jörg Weidinger driving. BMW's headline calls the lap 20.832 km. The body of the same release, and one circuit post, print 20.823 km, which is stored as that same full lap.

The Nürburgring's own M2 CS post repeats 20.823 km, while its record boilerplate defines the official full lap as 20.8 km from T13, and the 2025 roundup prints 7:25.534 beside the other full-lap records. 7:25.5 and 7:25.534 are the same lap. evo prints 7:25.53 on the same date. Stored as the 20.832 km full lap, not a third layout.

Why it's so fast

A car is fast when the force pushing it forward still beats the air, and when the tires and the gearing can use that force. A limiter is a different fact from an unlimited run.

  1. Drag and gearing

    Top speed is the balance point: thrust equals aerodynamic drag. The gearing has to still be pulling when the car gets there, or the engine falls off its power.

  2. What the sources signed

    A manufacturer claim, a magazine test and an electronic governor are not interchangeable. The measurement line says which one this page ranked.
