Context

Background

Usain Bolt's ranked time is 9.58 seconds, wind +0.9 m/s, at Olympiastadion, Berlin on 16 August 2009. That is the personal best on the World Athletics men's outdoor 100 m all-time list. The public World Athletics toplist and Athletic Stats, refreshed 5 October 2026, print the same time, wind, place and date.

The wind is legal: World Athletics counts a tailwind up to +2.0 m/s. This list stores one legal personal best per athlete, not every race. A radar split or a peak speed from a biomechanics paper is not on this page. The metric is race time, and lower is faster.

Checked 8 October 2026.
