Fastest Planets in the World (2026)

These speeds are one column of NASA's planetary fact sheet: orbital velocity in kilometres per second, the average speed of the body as it orbits the Sun. The notes on that sheet say so. Mercury 47.4, Venus 35.0, Earth 29.8, Mars 24.1, Jupiter 13.1, Saturn 9.7, Uranus 6.8, Neptune 5.4 and Pluto 4.7 are the cells that are ranked. HyperPhysics prints the same figures for Mercury through Saturn and one extra digit for the last three, and it says the table is mostly NASA's.

Earth's own fact sheet prints a mean of 29.78 km/s. Venus's sheet prints 35.02. Those are not extra rows. The comparison column is the ranking, so a reader can see one method. The Moon's 1.0 km/s is on the comparison sheet and is still omitted, because the notes say it is the speed around Earth.

Pluto stays, as a dwarf planet on the same table. Nine bodies are below the ten-entry index gate. No smaller body was added to fill the gap.
