The ranked figure is the Guinness World Records mark for the fastest greyhound: 67.32 km/h (41.83 mph). Star Title covered 366 m, 400 yards, in 19.57 seconds on a straight track at Wyong, New South Wales, on 5 March 1994. That is an average over the whole run, which the conditions line says plainly.

Williams and colleagues wrote in 2008 that greyhounds reach speeds of up to 17 m/s, citing earlier gallop studies. That lower verified figure is listed and is not the rank. Breed claims for salukis, whippets and other dogs were not added: the pages that repeat them were not a governing body, a paper, or a timed record.
