Xiaomi SU7 Ultra

The production Xiaomi SU7 Ultra lapped the Nordschleife in 7:04.957 on 1 April 2025 with Vincent Radermecker driving. The Nürburgring lists it as the electric executive-car record. The 6:22.091 prototype is a different car and is not stored.

The circuit requires a roll cage and racing seat for the attempt.

Why it's so fast

An electric car makes torque as soon as the motor turns. Top speed is the harder question: how long that push keeps winning against the air, and whether software stops the car first.

  1. Torque without a wait

    There is no turbo lag and, on most of these cars, no multi-gear hunt on the way to the ranked speed. The launch and the top speed are still two different problems.

  2. Batteries and software

    A battery has to supply the current, and a limiter may cut the run before drag does. The sources say which of those the figure is.
