Each point is a published spacecraft entry that already has a date. If the entry carries a record date, that day is used. Until then, the day on the cited speed is shown and labeled as the date of the cited speed, which is not the same thing as a launch date.

The list grows when those dates are added to the entries. Undated spacecraft stay in the waiting list under the timeline. Nothing here is a sample figure.
